Derek Parker was a mid level manager for a company selling toner. However, despite the apparent glamour of his fast paced life, he had a nagging sensation that he had somehow lost his edge and was no longer the hungry young gungslinger who had graduated from De Montfort University's business school ten years before.
This was all to change when waiting for an Easy Jet flight to Alicante (from London Luton) Derek found himself browsing the business section of the airport bookshop.
"My eyes fell upon the title - The Ten Secret Habits of Highly Effective Communication Management Executives. I picked it up and just couldn't stop reading. It was incredible. I suddenly saw what had been holding me back all these years."
Derek immediately told his boss at the toner company to get stuffed and he now makes his living writing business manuals full of empty platitudes and meaningless waffle to be sold at airports.
His most recent work "19 Years to Make Sure you Never Miss Grabbing That Unmissable Opportunity with Both Hands at the Same time."
The book begins with the explanation that he is writing the book from his yacht in Cannes......if you follow his advice you could be too.
"Well strictly speaking it's a deck chair in Morecambe and if you want one make sure you've the right money for the deposit as they dont give change."
"Edward provided a diligent and high-quality service during my job hunting process. Edward is professional, reliable, honest and has a good knowledge of the oil industry. The service he provided was second to none, in that he was always prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that my queries were resolved, and that all interested parties would arrive at an agreeable solution. It is my pleasure to recommend Edward to any prospective job seeker or recruiter."
